  • What is the Global citizenship education?

Posted by Charlotte on 2020-06-25 at 5:17 PM

Nowadays, we are living in the global village and the global citizenship. However, most of people have no idea about what is the “global citizenship education”. According to the UNESCO, it is “While the world may be increasingly interconnected, human rights violations, inequality and poverty still threaten peace and sustainability. Global Citizenship Education (GCED) is UNESCO’s response to these challenges. It works by empowering learners of all ages to understand that these are global, not local issues and to become active promoters of more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, secure and sustainable societies.” (https://en.unesco.org/themes/gced

I can’t think I am qualified to be the global citizen and I need work more on it and to be a good global citizen. From now on, we need work together to be a global citizen like to be a good family members. We are all the members of global village.

This is an interesting forum to discuss the global citizenship education. The citizenship is a natural thing but the global citizenship is not like this. It needs efforts to be global citizenship. We need work harder to fulfill such identity.
